Dr. Otten approves all pharmacies for inclusion into the MedsPricer Service. Prior to founding MedsPricer.com, Dr. Otten gained experience ranging from a clinical pharmacy practitioner to an industry leading consultant. He has previously been a hospital pharmacy director for one of Canada's largest teaching hospitals with over 75 employees directly under his supervision.
Dr. Otten has done extensive consulting within the pharmaceutical industry. Previous clients include Health Canada (the Canadian version of the FDA), major insurance companies, and various US State and Provincial governments. Through his consulting work, Dr Otten has developed a national program that determines the cost-effectiveness of drugs and was intimately involved in setting up a national program of post-marketing drug surveillance that will more closely monitor the safety and effectiveness of drugs. It was through this consulting work that Dr. Otten realized that affordable safe medications were not generally made easily available to the American public, laying the foundation for the MedsPricer.com service.
